Nature Update: How the Drought is Affecting Our Fireflies
One of the most magical parts of summer is our annual firefly display. However, fireflies require a damp environment—especially during their larval stage in the soil—to survive.
Unfortunately, this year's extreme drought has made it incredibly difficult for them to thrive. While we still hope to see some of their beautiful lights, we want to let our visitors know that viewing will likely be much lighter than in previous years. We appreciate your patience and your respect for our local ecosystem as it weathers these dry conditions.
